Dr. Peggy L. Rowan

A native of North Canton, Ohio, Peggy L. Rowan, D.V.M. graduated from Miami University in 1979 with a B.A. degree in Zoology.  She is the SHAH Staff Veterinarian and worked as a research assistant at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, Wooster, Ohio then entered veterinary school at The Ohio State University graduating in 1989.  She practiced in a mixed animal setting before devoting her career to all companion animal practice in 1991.  She has been a staff veterinarian at the Sagamore Hills Animal Hospital, Inc since July 2000.  She is married to Bill McGovern, a respiratory therapist.  They are the proud "parents" of Roosevelt, a funny, loveable cat adopted from the Hennis family and Brodie, a wonderful black Lab.  Brodie and Dr. Rowan are Delta Society members currently active in Summa Health Systems animal-assisted therapy program.  Brodie earned the CD (companion dog) title in competition obedience winning first place in all classes entered.  Dr. Rowan also enjoys birdwatching, gardening, hiking and family activities.
